Fossil Hunting in the Great Lakes State

As a junior in high school, I published “Fossil Hunting in the Great Lakes State”, a guide to collecting fossils in Michigan based on my personal collecting efforts. In this book, I introduce basic topics in paleontology and earth science and provide a comprehensive guide to fossil collecting in Michigan. "Fossil Hunting in the Great Lakes State" is a wonderful resource for anyone in Michigan with a curiosity for paleontology or fossil collecting to explore the ancient history of Michigan. MSU Museum Outreach

As a graduate student at Michigan State, I volunteer at bi-annual MSU Museum events, including Fossil Day and Darwin Discovery Day. At these events we open up the collections to showcase specimens, answer questions about evolution, paleontology, and natural history, and identify fossils and minerals collected by members of the public.
